AA Villa

An architectural residential gut-renovation project splitting one house built in the 1950's to cater to two families providing privacy and connectivity if and when required. In achieving this, we sliced the house in a manner of dividing the two main entries and public spaces to the opposing sides of the house, allocating the larger ground floor area as a single-story living space for one family, and turning other half into a duplex to achieve the required program. Both houses connect with one "hidden" connecting door that spills into a shared common space, the "diwaniya", as the main gathering space.
